Aguapanela
Product detailed description
Aguapanela is one of the most traditional drinks of rural Colombia. For generations it has been prepared by dissolving panela – dried sugar cane juice – in hot water to create a naturally sweet and energising beverage. Farmers traditionally drank it throughout the day as a simple and reliable source of energy.
This version combines organic panela with dried lime juice powder, which adds a fresh citrus note and creates a pleasantly balanced flavour profile. The result is a drink that is naturally sweet, lightly refreshing, and suitable both as a warming winter beverage and a cooling summer drink.
Thanks to its instant form, Aguapanela can be prepared in seconds. Simply mix the powder with hot water and enjoy its comforting warmth, or pour it over ice for a refreshing natural drink.
Hand-packed with care in our social integration packaging facility in Slovakia, creating meaningful work opportunities for disadvantaged individuals.
Origin & tradition
Panela is one of the most traditional sweeteners of Latin America. It is produced by gently evaporating freshly pressed sugar cane juice without refining or chemical processing, which preserves its natural minerals and characteristic caramel-like flavour.
In Colombia, panela drinks such as Aguapanela are deeply rooted in everyday life, especially in rural farming communities where they have long served as a natural source of energy and hydration.
