When to swap coffee for cocoa?

Many of us are addicted to coffee—we can't imagine our mornings without it, and if we skip it, we get a headache. Coffee stimulates us thanks to caffeine, but it can also irritate the stomach, cause tremors or discomfort, and once the stimulating effects wear off, we feel the need to have another cup. What can we do about it? Try replacing coffee with cocoa.

CAFFEINE VS. THEOBROMINE

Similar, but they work differently:

  • Caffeine in coffee has a rapid onset and provides a short-term boost.
  • Theobromine in real natural cocoa has a gentler onset, but lasts longer and without fluctuations.
  • Caffeine can cause hand tremors and restlessness.
  • Theobromine, on the other hand, calms the mind, dilates blood vessels, and helps you concentrate.
