Product detailed description
Finely roasted, crushed cacao beans from the Caquetá region of Colombia.
The premium quality 'fino de aroma' beans have been hand-picked, fermented, dried, gently roasted and crushed into small pieces - Nibs. They have an exceptional chocolate flavour profile with subtle notes of hazelnut, vanilla, caramel and chocolate. They are crushed into small pieces, making them ideal for baking as a healthy and crunchy substitute for nuts or chocolate chips. The beans come exclusively from the Caquetá region of Colombia, which is why they are single origin. They have been grown and hand-picked exclusively on one particular plantation, which is why they can also be described as single estate (from one plantation only). In addition, these beans are from only one variety of cacao - Criollo, which is why we also speak of premium varietal beans, the so-called varietal cacao beans. The fat content of the cacao solids is up to 52%. It is the high fat content that contains all the minerals that are beneficial to health - especially magnesium, calcium, potassium and iron, and vitamins - especially A, B1, B2, B3, C and E.
