Cacaofé - Peru Cosecha de Mujer Bean Coffee
Product detailed description
Peru Cosecha de Mujer is a specialty arabica from the San Ignacio area in Peru's Cajamarca region — a mountainous territory where altitudes between 1,200 and 1,900 metres create ideal conditions for the slow growth of coffee plants and the development of complex flavours.
This coffee is the result of the work of 223 female farmers from the Cosecha de Mujer initiative — a women's group within the Prosperidad de Chirinos cooperative. The initiative was founded to promote gender equality in agriculture: women receive training in farming, coffee quality improvement and small business management. The project also includes 20 drying modules that allow members to produce carefully controlled, high-quality coffee directly on their farms.
The coffee is processed using the fully washed (wet) method — ripe cherries are first pulped and then fermented in water, giving the final cup clarity, a clean structure and a distinct fruity character. Medium roasting preserves the natural character of the Bourbon, Catimor, Catuai, Caturra and Typica varieties without suppressing their delicacy.
The result in the cup? A full, rounded coffee with dominant dark chocolate and caramel, lifted by gentle apple acidity and rounded out with nutty depth. Pleasant bitterness, medium intensity — a coffee that tastes great in the morning or afternoon, on its own or with milk.
Hand-packed with care in our social integration facility in Slovakia, creating meaningful employment opportunities for people at a disadvantage.
Origin & terroir
The Cajamarca region is one of Latin America's most respected coffee-growing areas. The mountain climate, rich soil and significant temperature swings between day and night slow down the ripening of the cherries and build the complexity of flavour you can truly taste in the cup.
The Cosecha de Mujer women's initiative
This is more than just coffee — it's a community story. The Cosecha de Mujer project proves that quality and social impact go hand in hand. Every purchase of this coffee directly supports the female farmers who are building their independence and developing their skills.
